Nino Pataraia, PhD Candidate

Nino Pataraia

I have recently commenced my PhD Studentship in Networked Innovations within the Caledonian Academy. My research will focus/explore the role of collaborations in creation and diffusion of innovative teaching and learning practices in universities and also investigate whether and how collaborations impact the development and diffusion of TLPs/methods. The objective of the study is to contribute to the theory and practice of teaching and learning in Higher Education.

I have recently graduated from European Joint Master Programme in Higher Education – HEEM offered by the Universities of Aveiro (Portugal), University of Oslo (Norway) and The University of Tampere (Finland), which focused on changing functions, policies, and operations of Higher Education in a comparative Perspective. My master’ thesis investigated the ESG (European Standards and Guidelines) and Students’ Involvement in European Quality Assurance of Higher Education.

My work experience comprises of working at public/private universities for two years (teaching, student counseling services, human resources department/career development center) and at British Petroleum (administration/QA-QC team of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Gas/Oil Pipeline Projects) for six years.

My research interests are: Quality Assurance in HE, innovative teaching and learning practices, leadership/administration/policies of HE.
