Dane Lukic

Dane Lukic is originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina. After finishing his degree in English Language and Literature in Belgrade, Serbia, he was awarded an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship by the European Commission to pursue the European Masters in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management, spending his first year at the Danish School of Education in Copenhagen, Denmark, and his second year and thesis writing at the University of Deusto, Bilbao, Spain.
At the Caledonian Academy he has undertaken his PhD studies in 2009 (planned ending time Feb 2012) working on the project “Learning from Incidents: a social approach to learning from health and safety incidents at the workplace” which is a project aimed at investigating and developing new approaches to enhancing learning from health and safety incidents in the industrial workplace. The PhD Fellowship is sponsored by the UK Energy Institute and Shell.
Besides his research in organisational and work based learning, he has experience in non-formal youth learning through European Youth projects and training courses as well as involvement with youth and student organizations. Dane is an active member of Erasmus Mundus Student and Alumni Association (EMA).
Dane is the Coordinator of the Technology Enhanced Professional Learning (TEPL), a Special Interest Group funded by the UK Higher Education Academy.
He is also a memeber of the International Scientific Advisory Board of the International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation (ICERI).
Dane’s research interest include learning processes, organisational and workplace learning, lifelong and lifewide learning, intercultural competence, intersectoral and interdisciplinary research. In addition to his research interest, he is a trainer delivering workshops and trainings at both international corporations and NGOs.
