Enhancing Progression through Partnership

The Moving Forward Initiative : enhancing progression through partnership is an initiative which represents a coordinated institutional strategy for transition and progression and evidence based practice. It is coordinated by the Centre for Research in Lifelong Learning and centres on partnership working between the six academic schools, the Caledonian Academy, Learner Support, the Students' Association, Marketing and Communications and Academic Registry. This development forms the basis of GCU's Strategic Plan for the Scottish Funding Council's (SFC) Widening Access and Retention Premium (WARP) allocation, (New Horizon funding)

Moving Forward aims to:

  • Improved progression rates
  • Enhanced student experience in terms of transition to GCU
  • Greater support for staff in developing and implementing strategies to address issues associated with transition and progression.

Moving Forward's central aim is to develop, implement and evaluate a GCU Transition and Progression Framework, which is centred on evidence based practice and partnership working across the University.
