Welcome to the website of the project Learning from Incidents - a social approach to reducing incidents in the workplace. The project is undertaken by Caledonian Academy and sponsored by Energy Institute and Shell. Learning from Incidents is a project aimed at investigating and developing new approaches to enhancing learning from health and safety incidents in the industrial workplace. News:

5 Jul 2011       The project presented to the Energy Institute and Shell within the Hearts and Minds meeting, Shell Centre, London.

27 Jun 2011       The last 7th Change Lab workshop conducted at the Shell Fife site.

27 Apr 2011       the last 7th Change Lab workshop conducted at the Humber site.

14 Apr 2011        The project team presented the baseline findings and the ‘Learning from Incident Framework’ at the IChemE Hazards XXII Conference in Liverpool.                                       

7 Mar 2011          Dane Lukic presented the Change Laboratory Method and its potential for university and industry collaboration in research at the International Conference for Technology, Education and Development (INTED), Valencia, Spain.

14 Dec 2010        Dane Lukic invited to present the initial findings at the Energy Institute Human and Organisational Factor Committee (HOFCOM) in front of representatives of various industries in the energy sector.

25 Oct 2010         The article Lukic, D., Margaryan, A. and Littlejohn, A.  “How organisations learn from safety incidents: a multifaceted problem” published in the Journal of Workplace Learning.
