WelcomeI am a Lecturer in Learning Technology at the Caledonian Academy, Glasgow Caledonian University, in the UK. I have been involved in research, development, and teaching in the area of technology-enhanced learning since 1996. My research interests are focused on adult learning in the workplace, work-related learning in Higher Education, technology support for learning and work in knowledge-intensive organisations, and self-regulation of learning in the workplace. I was born in 1974. I received an MA in Romance-Germanic Philology from the Yerevan State University (Armenia) in 1997, an MSc in Educational and Training Systems Design from University of Twente (Netherlands) in 1998 and a PhD in Educational Science and Technology from the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences (research group of Prof. Betty Collis), University of Twente in 2006. I have worked within both higher education and corporate learning sectors. Prior to joining Glasgow Caledonian University, I was as an Associate Director and Research Fellow at the International Centre for Research on Learning at the University of Dundee. I held research and visiting lectureship positions at universities in the Netherlands and Germany, worked as a Research Analyst at Shell EP Learning and Leadership Development, and acted as a consultant to World Bank on projects involving use of network technology to support teacher training. I was a Shell Research Fellow in 2007-2009. I am a member of the European Association of Research in Learning and Instruction (EARLI). I co-chair with Prof. Allison Littlejohn the UK Higher Education Academy Supporting Sustainable eLearning Forum (SSeLF) Special Interest Group. My new book "Work-based learning: A blend of pedagogy and technology" has been published by VDM Verlag Dr. Mueller in 2008.
